FAIS Ombud

The FAIS Ombud’s role is to resolve disputes between financial services providers and their clients in a procedurally fair, informational, economical and expeditious manner. If you receive inappropriate advice of you FSP or representative has not followed the proper procedures, you are entitled to complain to your intermediary and afford them the opportunity to rectify the matter. What happens if I have a dispute on a claim with the insurer?

If you suffer a loss and your insurer repudiates your claim and you feel that this is either unfair in view of the circumstances of the loss or incorrect based on your policy wording, you have the right to approach the Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance who has jurisdiction to review and certain commercial insurances.
